NY TV news story on Chase abruptly raising minimum payments
Now that the outage is over, back to the real Chase-Sucks news – the stuff that Chase does to customers every day.
While extortion is a pretty strong word, how would you describe it when Chase knowingly puts people into an impossible situation by raising minimum payments. Great story.

Incredible!
This practice must have escaped the credit card reform legislation.
I also recently have bad experience with Chase credit cards. My credit limit on my Chase VISA and a former WaMu VISA was greatly reduced in spite of being a long time customer with lifelong excellent credit history. I happened to catch the change when checking my accounts as I try to do daily. The notice of the change came in the mail a couple of weeks after the fact.
Since Chase considers me too risky, I now consider them to be unworthy to be my bank.
I closed my Chase investment brokerage account and moved back to T. Rowe Price. I have accelerated paying off my mortgage at Chase and should be Chase free in 12 months or less.
