I just assumed that an organization with as bad a customer service reputation as WaMu wouldn't care about Better Business Bureau complaints, so I haven't suggested that people file them in the past.

However, this may not be the case. Searching the BBB for all Washington Mutual Bank branches and then comparing the BBB ratings shows that while many of them have an F rating (which you would expect), quite a few of them have an A rating (which is surprising).

What this suggests is that customer service vary's heavily from branch to branch. If you are having trouble with your WaMu branch, look for one that has a good rating and try your luck there.
