i opened a providian credit card account just before they were bought out by wamu. i thought that it was a good thing at first since i bank with wamu. i managed to get my credit limit all the way up to $6500 and a couple months ago, i got a notice that wamu was closing the account due to inactivity. i was pretty upset but i really didn't think i could do anything about it. i also had a wamu credit card with a $4000 limit and just yesterday, i got a notice that they have closed it for the same reasons and that it has been closed since 11/14. pretty ridiculous that they didn't tell me about it until 3 weeks later. so that's $10500 in credit limits that i've lost so my credit score will definitely go down. i've worked hard to get my credit score up to where it is now and wamu just killed it. thanks wamu!
