I have several horror stories to share concerning recent events that have taken place since my former bank, Washington Mutual became Chase. The most recent occurrence was today. I have received numerous fees lately, I'm being nickled and dimed to death actually, I have called numerous times and have only found minimal resolution once. Today I was calling concerning a fee...two fees I was charged by my bank for using an ATM. The ATM in question is a Chase ATM inside of my neighborhood pharmacy. I was charged by Chase, and not the machine a $2 fee on July 15th for an inquiry supposedly made on June 21st and a $2 fee on June 22nd for making a withdrawhl on June 21st. When I explained to the customer service representative that I had used a CHASE ATM she said that I was a Wamu customer and would be feed for using anything but a Wamu ATM. I'm not sure of the rest of the country but, all the Wamu branches and ATMs have converted to Chase in San Antonio, TX. She then asked me to hold while she connected me with a supervisor. The supervisor persisted to tell me that I am charged fees at the end of billing cycles for ATM use, I explained that I have been charged the same fee twice and that the ATM was a Chase ATM. She said that it was not, it was cardtronics. I asked if it would be necessary to call the authorities because apparently someone was passing off this ATM as a Chase Bank machine. While on the phone with her, I searched for a location using my zip code, 78249 and surprise, the CVS location with the same address listed on my statement was on the top of the list. She immediately began studdering and making excuses. I informed her that I was printing the search results and could go to the store to take pictures and fax them immediately to her. She said that they would be doing "research" to determine what the problem was. I have printed the transactions in question, the results of my zip code search and the two answers to online inquiries I made concerning these fees. I'm tired of Chase and their bogus fees and hope that there is someone out there who will put an end to the horrible customer service they provide. I am more than happy to share this story and anything else if needed. |
