I have three accounts with company... personal saving and checking and business checking. A dispute on my personal checking was denied and posted back on my account which overdrafted me around $500. It wasnt a big deal b/c after contacting my attorney the merchants who charged me incorrectly were in the process of refunding the same account which would bring my balance to zero. Well wamu took it upon themselves to transfer the money automatically from my business account into my checking account. I've never signed for overdraft protection and the rep stated the transfer was NOT overdraft protection but some kind of Right Of "I'm-gonna-take-your-money-whenever-i-feel-like-it-b/c-im-a-big-bad-company-and-you-cant-do-anything-about-it"... or something like that (i forgot the actual phrase she coined it as). They said the only way for me to obtain documentation of this so-called Right they have is to go an actual branch, which I will. This is very deceptive and information about this should be readily available for reps to email to a customer or it should be available online. Oh, and get this, she also said I would recieve a letter advising my business account has been deducted around $500. Why send a letter after the fact when I already know it's been deducted?! At this point it's just comical. The branch will be advised of my frustration and my $100k plus in business checking will promptly be withdrawn and deposited elsewhere. I also suggest everyone contact the appropriate business watchdog groups and gov't agencies of any deceptive practices you've been a victim of. thanks for allowing me to vent |
